Summary
Apprentices at Expertax will be trained in bookkeeping, payroll, and auto-enrolment tasks, including posting invoices, reconciling transactions, calculating pay and tax deductions, and managing pension contributions. They will also assist in preparing financial statements, handle communications, and prepare VAT and Self-Assessment Tax Returns.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
The apprentices will be trained to:
* Perform routine bookkeeping tasks such as posting sales and purchase invoices, reconciling bank transactions.
* Perform routine payroll tasks, such as calculating pay and tax deductions using payroll software, generating reports, submitting EPS/FPS reports to HMRC.
* Perform routine auto-enrolment tasks, including declarations of compliance, pension contribution uploads and payment approvals
* Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts, including maintenance of fixed asset registers, control account reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and other routine journal entries.
* Handle incoming and outgoing post and email communications.
* Prepare VAT returns.
* Prepare Self-Assessment Tax Returns.

* Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
* Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
* Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
* Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
* Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
* Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
* Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
* Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
* Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Your training plan
Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will be required to complete:
* Work towards gaining a full Qualification.
* Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
* Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.
* Standard and End Point Assessment.
* Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required).
Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:

NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in:
* Level 2 AAT (grade Pass)
