*We are looking for a Legal Counsel - Litigation to join our Legal, Regulatory and Compliance team. You will be joining our strong inhouse litigation team where you will be working alongside peers, be reporting into the senior litigation counsel and have paralegal apprentices and litigation administrators reporting into you. The team has enjoyed strong growth and success over the last few years. There are also opportunities to work with colleagues on cross business projects.*
*Key responsibilities*
* A litigator who is happy to run, manage and work a large caseload including water law and regulation related disputes around charging and debt recovery.
* Business acumen and understanding of the commercial and customer impact of decisions, as well as having excellent technical litigation legal expertise.
* A pro-active approach to identify and act in order to: (i) meet strategic business plans, and (ii) communicate any forthcoming changes in legal or regulatory requirements which could impact on the company; (iii) to work closely with colleagues to achieve this; and (iv) be comfortable working spreadsheets and metrics to demonstrate progress and value.
* Proven track record of balancing knowledge of the law and regulatory requirements with the communication skills to keep advice concise and purposeful.
* Problem solving skills to use the law and regulatory framework in order to find effective business solutions.
* Experience of managing individuals and/or a team to achieve goals.
*Qualifications*
* Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with English degree of at least 2:1.
* Up to 5 years PQE with degree and LPC/SQE or similar.
*Essential knowledge & skills needed*
* Strong dispute resolution experience.
* Experience of litigating in the County Court and High Court.
*REQUIREMENT TO BE IN THE OFFICE FOR 4 DAYS PER WEEK.*
