JCA are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join our Accounts and Finance team (Based at Solar House, Stevenage)

Responsible for overseeing financial reporting, compliance, transactional finance, tax reporting, cash flow management, and working capital optimization.

Lead a team of professionals in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of JCA's financial operations.

Main Duties

Financial Reporting Leadership:

1. Lead the financial reporting function, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards
2. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
3. Provide guidance and support to the team to maintain high standards of financial reporting excellence
4. Prepare Head Office management accounts and variance analysis against prior forecast.

Transactional Finance Management:

5. Manage the transactional finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and rebate functions, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions
6. Implement best practices to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the transactional finance function

Working Capital Optimization:

7. Implement strategies for working capital management, including managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, and minimizing operating cycle times
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for working capital improvement and drive initiatives to enhance cash flow

Cash Flow Reporting and Analysis:

9. Manage cash flow reporting, forecasting, and analysis, providing insights to support liquidity management and decision-making
10. Monitor cash flow performance against targets and proactively identify areas for improvement or risk mitigation

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

11. Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements, including Corporation Tax, Construction Industry Scheme, Research and Development tax credits, and Value Added Tax
12. Liaise with Group Tax, external advisors and tax authorities as necessary to address tax-related matters

Audit Oversight and Internal Controls:

13. Oversee the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with audit requirements
14. Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
15. Working with Group Finance to develop and document internal controls.
16. Implementation of UK SOX by the end of FY27.

Leadership and Development:

17. Provide leadership and guidance to the financial reporting and transactional finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Support the professional development and growth of team members through coaching, training, and mentorship

What we are looking for

Qualified ACCA/ACMA and highly experienced in a similar role.

Good communication skills.

Strong leadership qualities.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial.

Strong understanding of internal controls and importance of compliance.
