The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to maintain a stable and focused learning environment during the short-term absence of teaching staff.You will not be required to plan lessons or grade assignments; instead, you will facilitate pre-prepared work and ensure students remain on task.
Key Responsibilities:
* Classroom Management: Supervise students aged 11-18, ensuring they follow academy behaviour policies and remain engaged with their learning.
* Instructional Support: Deliver pre-set lesson content across various subjects, providing clarity and assistance where needed.
* Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate registers and provide constructive feedback to departments regarding student progress and behaviour.
* Wider Academy Life: Assist with lunchtime supervision, form registration, and support various departments during non-cover periods.
About You
We are looking for someone who can balance a firm approach with an empathetic understanding of student needs.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent (Degree preferred).
* Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to young people from diverse backgrounds.
* Adaptability: A "quick-thinker" who can manage shifting priorities throughout the school day.
* Resilience: A calm, professional manner and a good sense of humour are essential for navigating the challenges of a secondary school environment.
