Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Apprentice Office Assistant to join our Facilities team. The position will be split between our Walsall office for three days per week and our Cannock office for two days per week, so you must be able to commute to both branch offices.

The role will consist of learning and training on the job as well as studying for your Level 3 Business Administration qualification through Walsall College. The hours will be full time working 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, and during this time you will virtually attend college sessions every two weeks.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication, proactivity and organisational skills, as well as having a good eye for detail. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to kickstart their career by working for a reputable law firm who are passionate about investing in their staff.

This role will be paid at Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage.

Responsibilities

* Reception Cover
o Act as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and callers.
o Manage the reception desk, including greeting guests, signing them in, and notifying staff of arrivals.
o Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries professionally and efficiently.
o Take card payments and assist with petty cash.
o Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area at all times.
* Hospitality
o Arrange and serve refreshments for internal and external meetings.
o Assist with meeting room setup, ensuring rooms are clean, organised, and appropriately equipped.
o Coordinate catering orders when required and manage stock of hospitality supplies.
* Post & Deliveries
o Sort, distribute, and process all incoming and outgoing post and packages.
o Keep accurate records of shipments when necessary.
* Administration
o Provide general administrative support to the office team, including photocopying and scanning.
o Maintain office supplies and assist with stock ordering and inventory checks.
o Support ad hoc tasks and projects to ensure efficient office operations.


Qualifications / Requirements

* Strong communication, proactivity and organizational skills with good attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and undertake an on-the-job training along with college coursework.
* Ability to commute to both Walsall and Cannock office locations.
