A growing organisation in the construction and infrastructure sector is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team based in Hampton Heath, Cheshire, with hybrid working available. This is a great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant with at least two years’ experience who is looking to develop within a supportive environment while gaining exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance function, supporting day to day accounting operations, financial reporting and business performance analysis. The Role The Accounts Assistant will play an important role in supporting the financial health of the business. The position involves maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting and supporting payroll and operational finance activities. Working alongside senior leadership, the role will contribute to producing management information that helps support business decision making. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting and Data Management * Maintain accurate accounting records and financial data * Assist with the preparation of financial reports and management information * Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes * Monitor financial performance and assist with variance analysis * Ensure financial data is processed accurately and in a timely manner Accounts and Finance Operations * Assist with weekly and monthly payroll administration * Support the raising of sales invoices and quotations * Maintain supplier records and assist with payment processes * Contribute to improved stock management and cost allocation * Support monitoring of cash flow and financial controls Compliance and Audit Support * Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts * Support external auditors during audit processes * Ensure financial activities comply with internal procedures and regulation Stakeholder Collaboration * Work closely with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors * Maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders * Support improvements in finance systems and processes Skills and Experience * Minimum two years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role * AAT Level 3 qualified, studying towards AAT, or equivalent experience * Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial data * Experience supporting payroll processes * Ability to manage accounting records and financial documentation * Experience using accounting software or ERP systems Desirable Previous experience within the construction or infrastructure sector
