We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quarry Manager to lead operations at our Mercaston Aggregates site. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving safety, efficiency, and performance at a well-established quarry.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all site operations to meet agreed safety, environmental, cost, quality, and service objectives.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards.
* Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency and performance.
* Motivate and manage site staff to achieve high standards of productivity and safety.
* Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
* Health and Safety: Operating to the highest level of health and safety objectives in line with Hanson's Health and Safety Plan. Action a plan of continuous improvement in this area.
* Environmental: Operating to the highest level of environmental objectives in line with Hanson's Environmental Management Plan. Action a plan of continuous improvement in this area.
* Compliance: Ensure all statutory legislation and company regulations are adhered to with respect to all operational activities.
* Operations: Achieve optimum production levels in line with commercial activity at the lowest operation cost. Continually advance operational improvements to improve efficiency with the production functions.
* Distribution: Working with the logistics function to ensure operational procedures are such that highest customer service levels can be achieved at the most efficient operational cost.
* Quality: Working with the technical function to ensure operational procedures are such that the highest quality levels are achieved at the most efficient operational cost.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in quarry or site management within the aggregates or construction materials industry.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Relevant qualifications in quarry management or health & safety (e.g., SHE NVQ, QCF, or equivalent).
