Description

Online Education Services (OES) is a vibrant, values-led organisation with a genuine passion for enhancing lives through education. We partner with universities, training institutes, and professional bodies across the globe to develop and deliver immersive, engaging learning experiences that truly make a difference.

Our culture is built on four core values: Passion and Perseverance, Teamwork, Agility and Innovation, and Integrity. These aren't just words on a wall — they shape how we work every single day. We empower our teams to be student-focused, to embrace change with a growth mindset, and to take ownership of the impact they have.

Our vision is bold: to be the world's most impactful enabler of education. We trust our people to deliver, and in return, we invest in their growth through a diverse range of projects, programmes, and meaningful, challenging work.

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and driven Salesforce Developer to join our technology team based in Birmingham City Centre on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

In this role, you will play a central part in the development, setup, and ongoing maintenance of our Salesforce platform — the technology that underpins how our teams deliver outstanding experiences for students and university partners around the world. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders and collaborate with third-party providers to ensure continuous improvement and platform excellence.

This is a role where your technical contributions will have a direct and visible impact — not just on the business, but on the learners whose lives we exist to support.

* 35 hour working week, within a flexible working environment
* OES values driven recruitment principles
* Career-life fit – health & wellbeing focus
* 25 days of annual leave + Bank holidays

* We are proud to support the Living the Wage movement

What You'll Be Responsible For

* Developing and updating custom applications using Apex, Lightning Components, and Visualforce pages
* Designing and implementing seamless integrations with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and event relays
* Building advanced automation solutions using Apex code, going beyond what standard Flow capabilities can deliver
* Debugging and resolving issues across Apex code, Lightning Components, and platform performance
* Maintaining clear, accurate records of development decisions and processes to support the wider team
* Applying declarative development approaches confidently wherever coding is not required
* Collaborating with internal teams and third-party development partners to deliver platform enhancements that align with business priorities

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a technically capable Salesforce Developer who brings both solid hands-on experience and a genuine enthusiasm for building solutions that work. To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience & Technical Skills

* 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience
* Strong proficiency in Apex classes, triggers, batch Apex, and scheduled jobs
* Proven experience building modern UI components using Lightning Web Components (LWC)
* Solid working knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and event-driven architecture
* Experience with version control tools and CI/CD pipelines
* Confidence working with declarative tools (such as Flow) when a no-code solution is the right approach
* A good understanding of Salesforce best practices, governor limits, and security considerations

Qualifications

* ✔️ Salesforce Platform Developer I — Essential (current certification required)

About You

You are a collaborative, solutions-oriented developer who communicates clearly and takes pride in writing clean, well-documented code. You enjoy working alongside colleagues from across the business — whether that's the IT team, Student Liaison Officers, Reporting Analysts, or external university partners — and you understand that great technology is ultimately about the people it serves.

You are comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced environment, and you approach challenges with curiosity and a positive, growth-focused mindset.

Who You'll Work With

You will report directly to the Salesforce Platform Manager and collaborate regularly with:

* The IT Manager and wider IT team
* Student Liaison Officers and Student Admin teams
* Reporting Analysts who depend on clean, reliable data
* University partners, SEEK vendors, and contracted education technology providers

Your input will be valued across the organisation — from day-to-day technical support to longer-term platform strategy.

Why Join OES?

* Purpose-driven work — every line of code you write contributes to improving education for learners worldwide
* A culture you'll thrive in — we live by our values and genuinely invest in our people
* Room to grow — with a diverse range of projects and programmes, no two days look the same
* Part of a global group — benefit from the reach and resources of the wider SEEK Group
* Birmingham City Centre location — a well-connected, vibrant base right in the heart of the city

How to Apply

If you are a Salesforce Developer ready to apply your skills in a role that truly matters, we would love to hear from you.
