The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and driven Salesforce Developer to join our technology team based in Birmingham City Centre on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.
In this role, you will play a central part in the development, setup, and ongoing maintenance of our Salesforce platform — the technology that underpins how our teams deliver outstanding experiences for students and university partners around the world. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders and collaborate with third-party providers to ensure continuous improvement and platform excellence.

What You'll Be Responsible For
* Developing and updating custom applications using Apex, Lightning Components, and Visualforce pages
* Designing and implementing seamless integrations with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and event relays
* Building advanced automation solutions using Apex code, going beyond what standard Flow capabilities can deliver
* Debugging and resolving issues across Apex code, Lightning Components, and platform performance
* Maintaining clear, accurate records of development decisions and processes to support the wider team
* Applying declarative development approaches confidently wherever coding is not required
* Collaborating with internal teams and third-party development partners to deliver platform enhancements that align with business priorities
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a technically capable Salesforce Developer who brings both solid hands-on experience and a genuine enthusiasm for building solutions that work. To be successful in this role, you will need:
Experience & Technical Skills
* 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience
* Strong proficiency in Apex classes, triggers, batch Apex, and scheduled jobs
* Proven experience building modern UI components using Lightning Web Components (LWC)
* Solid working knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and event-driven architecture
* Experience with version control tools and CI/CD pipelines
* Confidence working with declarative tools (such as Flow) when a no-code solution is the right approach
* A good understanding of Salesforce best practices, governor limits, and security considerations
Qualifications
* ✔️ Salesforce Platform Developer I — Essential (current certification required)

Who You'll Work With
You will report directly to the Salesforce Platform Manager and collaborate regularly with:
* The IT Manager and wider IT team
* Student Liaison Officers and Student Admin teams
* Reporting Analysts who depend on clean, reliable data
* University partners, SEEK vendors, and contracted education technology providers
