Overview
Maintenance Engineer (Electrical / Electronic) – Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. Our client is a leading special purpose materials manufacturer part of a larger group with multiple UK sites. They are seeking a maintenance engineer with a strong electrical and electronic bias to join one of their flagship operations.
Role and Responsibilities
* Reactive and planned maintenance across all areas of engineering
* Electrical, electronic and mechanical fault finding / problem solving on machinery and equipment
* Work on special purpose machinery, vacuum systems, industrial processing equipment, lighting and power systems, conveyors, ovens, and heat treatment machinery
* Fault finding down to electronic component level: circuits, RF drives, PCBs
* PLC electrical fault finding
* Soldering, electrical inspection, PAT testing
* Reading and following circuit and electrical wiring diagrams
* Carry out PPM schedules and update records
* Conduct machine/equipment testing and procedure improvements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Electrical / electronic biased engineer
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams
* Experience in manufacturing / production environments
* Time-served engineer/electrician (qualified ideally to ONC/HNC electrical/electronics)
* Fault finding down to electronic component level
* RF experience desirable; high voltage experience (AC/DC power supplies) desirable
* Good soldering skills
* Team player with a practical, get stuck in attitude
* Beneficial: City and Guilds 2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing; 17th/18th Edition
* PLC knowledge desirable
* Ability to make own decisions and plan own workload

Location & Compensation
Location: Cambridgeshire (CB24); commutable from Cambridge, Huntingdon, St. Neots, Newmarket, Royston, South Peterborough
Salary: GBP 40,000 – GBP 45,000 + Bonus
Shift: Monday to Friday – Days
