About the Role: To secure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children and their families through the effective and efficient operational delivery of a range of specialist and targeted preventative services for children and young people, including the key statutory children s services such as Children Social Care, (Safeguarding, Fostering, Children in Care and Care Leavers) Local Authority run Children s Centres, Youth offending Service to include Violence Reduction. The post holder will also ensure high quality social work practice and ongoing service development and improvement to secure the best possible outcomes for children and young people across B&NES. This post holder will be deputy DCS. This post is responsible for leading on the operational delivery of internal provision, quality assurance, safeguarding and is responsible and accountable for good operational practice within and across the social care teams. The post-holder will have specific responsibility for both operational and strategic safeguarding which aim to harness the benefits and added value of partnership working across the whole health and social care system. The post holder will be the operational lead for the internal Children Social Care provider services, to include: Preventative Ensure the best outcomes for CYP across the age range through the provision of a range of preventative and specialist services. Safeguarding outcomes Ensure that children are safeguarded by provision of services to identify and safeguard children, support children and young people in need and/or at risk of significant harm. Care outcomes Ensure the best outcomes for children who are or have been in care, through provision of services for children and young people in care and care leavers, including disabled children and those with learning difficulties. Principal Social Worker Develop, support and monitor the quality of social work practice and ensure the views and experiences of front-line practitioners are heard. Service Improvement - Develop, support and monitor the quality-of-service improvement and inspection readiness.
