The Position As RES continues to expand its portfolio of assets and services globally there's an increasing need to adapt the management and operation of the systems and services that support Operational Technology (OT). To address this need, RES has established a global OT Team under the Chief Information Office (CIO). The RES Operational Technology environment is critical to how RES delivers its core business services and this role is vital to ensuring Operational Technology is robustly maintained, secured and adapted to support business change. This role will ultimately support the OT Team in ensuring: OT systems and infrastructure performs and scales to support business growth ambitions Appropriate resilience and cyber security capabilities are inherent in OT system design and operation OT Standardization and simplification practices are progressively established globally OT improvement projects are effectively supported in terms of technology delivery Cost optimization measures are continually assessed and practiced Reporting to the OT Manager in the region in which the role is based this role will focus on both operational support of deployed OT systems and infrastructure as well as the technical delivery of OT related projects. The post-holder will be required to travel to RES sites to establish and maintain excellent customer relations. Key Accountabilities Undertake incident response and resolution for RES owned or maintained central and site based OT systems and infrastructure to uphold levels of data acquisition and asset reliability which allow RES robustly deliver its business services Directly support the successful delivery of technology changes and dedicated projects to progressively improve the standardization, performance, security and scalability of OT systems and infrastructure Technical planning to ensure repeatable and timely execution of the technical adoption of new renewable generation sites into a BAU support regime provided by the OT Function Assist the development of architecture standards for OT globally and their practical application into technology design and deployments in both site construction and adoption scenarios Support the identification and where approved the introduction of new technologies which will help the business grow, enhance OT resilience and business competitiveness Lead on the planning and implementation of project driven changes as applicable to OT systems and network infrastructure Support relevant business teams to include relevant OT standards and specifications within bid proposals and resulting client contracts Follow best practice OT cyber security standards in adherence with the RES Cyber Security Framework to support the key business objectives of RES and our clients Assist the Cyber Security team in the gathering, analyzing and reporting of OT related threat intelligence and learning from security partners, industry peers and government agencies to understand potential and relevant impacts to RES so to identify and apply relevant cyber countermeasures and improvements Support any cyber incident response and recovery activities in relation to OT systems in close liaison with the Cyber Security team Overseeing security penetration testing of OT systems and infrastructure to ensure the effective management and remediation of any resulting improvement actions Promote, communicate and ingrain the use good practice OT infrastructure design and maintenance practices across the OT landscape and the RES business through collaboration with key stakeholders, partners and customers Establishing and maintaining a knowledge management repository of OT systems and infrastructure collateral to uphold service levels on change delivery and operational support Line Management Direct supervision of 3rd parties' suppliers in OT delivery and support Knowledge Skills OT systems and infrastructure as typically used to support energy generation Good practice design, implementation and operation of OT environments and closely coupled IT systems Delivering and supporting OT infrastructure changes Managing and partnering with 3rd party suppliers delivery OT related services Globally recognized OT standards, architecture models and communication protocols e.g. IEC 62443, DNP3, Modbus, Cyber security principles within leading frameworks and standards e.g. ISO27001, NERC-CIP and NIST-CSF Uses a 'business outcome' approach and style to delivering technology change Proven ability to engage, build strong relationships, influence, and partner with stakeholders across functions and geographies. Calm under pressure and able to logically address and execute resolutions to operational incidents Credible and capable; able to quickly build the confidence in senior managers and peers Passionate about technology and how it can improve business resilience. A dynamic individual, with strong, proven technical delivery skills. Unafraid of taking decisions and happy to take accountability. Sensitive and intuitive, whilst displaying gravitas and credibile Experience Qualifications Essential A track record working in the design and support of OT systems and infrastructures and related cyber security systems A capable, all round technologist, preferably in the B2B sector, with experience of change and transformation. Experienced gained in the Construction, Utilities or a project based business Experience of deploying and supporting leading OT & Cyber Security and network infrastructure technologies such as firewalls, routers, switches, vulnerability scanners and authentication services A track record of bringing innovative ideas that deliver a competitive edge in terms of process and efficiency. Developed and delivered OT or IT changes that have driven business growth Highly Desirable Solid IT foundation spanning, with a broad awareness of IT, also spanning Build and Run/ Service Delivery Desirable Accreditation or certification relating architecting, deploying and securing enterprise or OT related cloud platforms including Azure, AWS and Google Vendor qualifications or equivalent in leading firewall and networking technologies including Fortinet and Cisco At RES we celebrate difference as we know it makes our company a great place to work.
