Purpose:
Working closely with the Chairman to effectively, efficiently and robustly manage the whole operations of Smart Training and Recruitment Limited in order to deliver Vision 2033.
Key Relationships:
To build professional relationships with all stakeholders of Smart Training & Recruitment in particular the Senior Leadership Team in order to deliver Vision 2033.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver Vision 2033 along with the Smart Training and Recruitment’s agreed Strategic and detailed annual business plans
* Manage the day-today training operations of the business to the agreed quality standards to deliver success rates as agreed within the Strategic Plan and annual Business Plans
* Manage the day-to-day business support functions, sales, HR, finance, IT, data compliance and reporting
* Manage the business’s Quality Improvement Procedures and Processes, including MIS to successfully achieve the Strategic Plan and Annual Business Plans
* Ensure compliance with all stakeholder requirements
* Represent Smart Training and Recruitment at appropriate internal and external meetings and events including as nominee at OFSTED inspections
* Maximise income both commercially and government funding
* Maximise surplus by tightly managing the funding rules and costs associated within the business
* Develop robust branding and marketing strategies and campaigns to maximise income both commercially and Government funding
* Ensure all Team members continually evaluate and assess all practices and performance, including self-evaluation as part of the Quality Improvement and People Management systems
* Any other tasks or projects required by the business to ensure Vision 2033 is achieved
* To lead by example, inspiring, motivating, and directing employees to achieve Vision 2033
* To make well informed, considered, clear and timely decisions under pressure,
* Effectively convey information, build rapport, and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Manage operations, delegate tasks to ensure the company is operated efficiently & effectively
* Identify and analyse company issues and implementing effective solutions
* Influence, drive and commit to the culture, vision, values, mission, objective and values of Smart Training and Recruitment
* Excellent management of people systems and performance
* Understand financial statements, manage budgets, and make informed financial decisions.
* Excellent organisation, administration, numeracy and I.T. skills with an analytical and critical mind
* Commitment to your continuous development and improvement
* Maintain the company behavioural and ethical standards ensuring an environment in which the dignity of individuals is respected
* To know when to seek internal or external support, advice and training to ensure the company is run effectively and efficiently to meet Vision 2033
Qualifications:
* Proven leadership experience within an organisation’s Senior Leadership Team (essential)
* Operated within the Government funded education sector (desirable)
* Education / teaching qualifications (optional)
* Educated to degree level (optional)
Chairman/Shareholder Responsibilities:
With the Managing Director agree the:-
* Culture, vision, values, mission, objectives and values of Smart Training and Recruitment
* Strategic Plans
* Annual Business Plans
* Company organisational and pay structure including annual pay reviews
* Expenditure above £5,000, Contracts / commitments over 3 months (including employment)
* Off-boarding of Team members
* HMRC and bank representative
* Cashflow management, production of monthly management and annual statutory accounts
* Provide mentoring, advice and support to the Managing Director
* Chair the Board of Directors and the Company Audit & Compliance committee
Vision 2033:
* By Working together to enrich the Smart vision is to be a provider of excellence with over 2,000 delivering an achievement rate of 73%
* OFSTED 2028 – Grade 1(or equivalent)
* Maintain five star Apprenticeship rating
* Maintain DfE “on-track” status for all metrics within the Apprenticeship Accountability Framework
