Position Summary
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust's Primary Care Network consists of eight practices across Wolverhampton, all rated as Good by the CQC. We are part of a forward-thinking network working with the Trust. A multidisciplinary team approach works with ANPs, Practice Nurses, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers and Pharmacists, supported by an administrative team that enables patient-facing care. Our surgeries use EMIS Web and Docman10.
We are offering a salaried GP vacancy under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who is newly qualified, within two years of completing their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
The role offers seven sessions per week and is a permanent contract.
Main Duties
* Provide clinical and triage duties at the agreed surgeries within the Primary Care Network, including work in the Enhanced Access Service.
* Undertake surgery consultations, home visits when necessary, and telephone queries from patients and health care professionals.
* Make autonomous professional decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred within the organisation.
* Undertake on-call duties as part of the surgery on-call rota, which may include requesting that patients present at the surgery, telephone consultations, home visits, and triage.
* Work with patients to support compliance and adherence to prescribed treatments.
* Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication, including regimens, side effects and interactions.
* Assess, identify, and refer patients presenting with mental health needs in accordance with national and local guidelines.
* Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Develop care plans in line with current clinical practice and disease-management protocols.
* Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, including appropriate information for the Quality and Outcomes Framework services.
* Collect data for audit purposes.
* Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
* Timely assess incoming electronic and paper correspondence relating to patient and non-patient information as required.
* Use the appropriate electronic systems.
* Complete insurance and other reports relating to patients under our care.
* Support the development and implementation of new care pathways that align with ARRS objectives.
* Indemnity is covered by Royal Wolverhampton Trust under the hospital scheme for GMS work; postholder will have paid time for study and CPD.
Qualifications
* Be on the Performer's List and be registered with the General Medical Council.
Experience
* Experience in Primary Care.
