Nottingham Children's Hospital is pleased to announce that we will be recruiting additional Registered Children's Nurses and student Children's Nurses who are due to qualify by February 2026.
We invite final year Children’s Nursing students and Registered Children's Nurses with experience to apply.
Pre-Pin Nurses must be qualified by February 2026 to be eligible to apply.
Opportunities are available in rotational posts and specific wards/departments, including but not limited to:
* Children's Assessment Unit - A fast-paced medical area where you will gain a wealth of knowledge and skills in patient assessment.
* Ward E17 - Children's Renal
* Wards D34 and D35 - Surgical pathway with opportunities to develop skills in caring for patients undergoing various specialist surgeries, including cleft lip and palate, spinal, ENT, orthopaedic, and gastrointestinal procedures.
* Paediatric Critical Care Units - with the opportunity to enroll in the structured foundation programme.
* Ward E39 - Children's Oncology Ward
* Ward E40 - Children's Neurology and Spinal
* Ward D33 - General Medical
We also offer day case areas such as Oncology Daycare. If you are seeking a role with a more regular working pattern, this unit offers a good balance of long days (8 am - 8 pm) with no nights, though some weekend work may be required.

Our well-established rotation and preceptorship programmes are supported by dedicated preceptorship development nurses. Our rotation posts provide the opportunity to experience various areas within the children’s hospital, including neonates, emergency department, PCCU, and other specialist wards. The rotation schedule is flexible to meet individual needs, with options for three six-month rotations, two nine-month rotations, or a bespoke arrangement.
Alternatively, you may choose to work in a specific ward or department, with the option to transfer later via our transfer window system. For those passionate about paediatric intensive care nursing, we offer a critical care foundation programme.
We also welcome applications from experienced adult registered nurses with paediatric experience.
