About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team, supporting newly secured and existing commercial contracts. This includes a major PPM contract with Tameside Council covering approximately 80 buildings within their commercial estate, alongside additional commercial installation projects with key contractors.
This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys both independent work and collaborating within a team.
Key Responsibilities
* Surveying HVAC systems including AC units, AHUs, and ductwork
* Producing detailed reports and populating asset registers
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across commercial sites
* Servicing and refurbishing HVAC equipment, including AHUs
* Assisting with HVAC and plumbing installations (primarily commercial, some domestic)
* Understanding and working with basic control functions of HVAC systems
Requirements
* Proven experience working with HVAC systems, including AHUs and AC units (essential)
* F-Gas certification (minimum requirement)
* NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline (minimum requirement)
* Basic computer skills for reporting and asset management
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Experience
* Facilities Management (FM) experience within the commercial sector
* Experience working on PPM contracts
* Exposure to commercial fit-out projects
