Thrive Oldham are recruiting Production Operatives on behalf of our well established manufacturing client in the Merthyr Area. Production Operative - Job Description Job Purpose To support the production and assembly process so work continues in a safe, efficient & productive manner. Overview of Job The day-to-day job is involved in the manufacture of various sized Composite, metal and hose assemblies made to stringent quality control requirements for many different customers. Duties can include the monitoring, maintaining, setting and operating of automated and semi-automated machinery, manual assembly of components, packaging and all aspects of cleaning and good housekeeping. The job of a production operative requires flexibility and adaptation to change towards continuous improvement and the post holder will be expected, on sometimes a quite regular basis, to carry out other general tasks and duties as required within the factory workplace. Key Skills: Reasonable communication abilities in English. Ability to understand and follow health & safety rules, standard operating procedures, safe systems of work & production & assembly quality specifications. Flexible work attitude with no demarcation lines towards other tasks & duties. Able to work as part of a team and use initiative to solve minor work related issues. Willingness and enthusiasm to work in a Continuous Improvement environment. Be able to achieve target number of product(s) per shift on a regular basis. Ability to work shifts if required. Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Comply with rules, guidelines and company policies and procedures for Health & Safety and ensure the correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. Operate and set machinery and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Work to maximising personal productivity and to achieving the target number of product(s) per shift. Report machine and equipment faults or any other work concerns in a proper and timely manner when unable to resolve issues. Ensure all work meets with the relevant quality standard and that all products are produced according to set specifications as per the information, instructions & guidelines provided. Carry out quality checks and dimensional and fixture checks as per specifications and guidelines. Monitor for any quality non-conformance(s)and report as required. Maintain good, safe housekeeping standards and keep work area clean & organised at all times. Carry out assembly, packaging, wrapping and/or palletising of products as required. Undertake cross-training as necessary and assist in the training of others as and when required. Shift Times 6-2 and 2-10 must be flexible if needed to work nights. £12.21phr with £10 extra a week for 6-2 and £30 a week extra for afternoons. Immediate Starts INDOLD
