An Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school in Nottingham (NG8) are looking to appoint a Head of Physical Education (Female) to join their leadership team from September 2025.
The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to lead a thriving PE department, playing a key role in shaping curriculum design, developing staff, and promoting an inclusive, high-performance sporting culture across the school. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3-5 and will lead a dedicated team to deliver outstanding PE provision in a setting with around 1400 students currently enrolled.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the strategic development and delivery of the PE curriculum
* Inspire high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour across the faculty
* Support the wider leadership team in raising achievement and school improvement
* Champion inclusion, teamwork and physical wellbeing for all pupils
* Coach and develop staff through CPD, curriculum innovation and clear leadership
* Oversee department budgets, resources and extracurricular programming
* Collaborate across the trust to share best practices and shape trust-wide PE provision
What we are Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in delivering PE at secondary level
* Proven track record of raising achievement and leading teams
* Strong understanding of inclusive, student-centred PE curriculum models
* Ability to inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds
* Committed to ongoing professional development and collaborative working
