You’ll be part of a specialist team responsible for investigating and progressing complex disciplinary matters, which has a direct impact on maintaining professional standards and safeguarding the wider public interest.
Your new role
You will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working on investigations, many of which are complex and involve coordination with major regulatory bodies.
Key responsibilities
* Working within case teams alongside forensic accountants, lawyers and legal assistants
* Taking ownership of discrete areas within investigations and progressing matters through to resolution
* Supporting on case strategy and helping drive investigations forward
* Reviewing complex financial, audit and actuarial material in collaboration with forensic specialists
* Analysing and preparing evidence for use in enforcement proceedings
* Assisting with the instruction and management of external counsel, experts and other third parties
* Supporting preparation for tribunal hearings, including attendance where required
* Conducting legal and policy research and advising on developments impacting enforcement activity
* Drafting legal documents, managing disclosure processes and preparing case materials
* Monitoring budgets and contributing to effective case management
* Supporting and mentoring more junior team members
What you’ll need to succeed
* Be a qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales with at least 2 years’ PQE
* Have experience in regulatory law and/or commercial litigation
* Demonstrate strong legal and analytical skills
* Have excellent written and verbal communication abilities
* Show sound judgement and a proactive, self‑driven approach
* Be highly organised with strong case and project management skills
* Be comfortable working under pressure and to deadlines
* Have a genuine interest in public interest and regulatory work
* Be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
