An excitingopportunity has arisen for an accomplished and highly motivated PracticeManager with a background in leadership and management and with a demonstrableability to manage all aspects and overall performance of Grosvenor HouseSurgery

The successfulcandidate will be expected to work 3 days a week (21 hours).


Main duties of the job

The role willrequire a good grasp of small business management as you will lead all aspectsof general management, including human resources, financial management andplanning, health and safety, patient service delivery, risk management and CQCcompliance. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient management ofthe practice as well as ensuring the wellbeing of the patients and staff.

As a member of themanagement team the post holder is expected to attend weekly meetings with thesenior GP partner, receptionist team and nursing team to develop, discuss and reporton all aspects of service delivery.


About us

Grosvenor HouseSurgery is located in West Ealing, W13 9BE and is a member of the South CentralEaling Primary Care Network (SCE PCN). The practice has a list size of 5500 patients.Staff comprise of 4 GPs, 2 Practice nurses, 1 trainee nurse, 1 GP assistant,pharmacy clerk and 7 Reception and administrative staff. The practice usesSystmOne.

South CentralEaling PCN provides additional clinical and administrative staff to support thepractice (Clinical Pharmacy team, First Contact Physiotherapist, Mental Health Practitioner,Paramedic home visiting service and Social Prescriber.


Job responsibilities

* Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities
* Managing the procurement of practice equipment, supplies and services
* Managing contracts for bought in services i.e. cleaning, gardening, etc
* The management of the premises, including health and safety aspects such as risk assessments and mandatory training
* Ensuring the practice has appropriate insurance cover
* Developing, implementing and embedding an appropriate business continuity plan
* Direct line management of the following staff; Reception & administrative Staff
* Managing the recruitment and retention of staff;
* Ensuring all staff have the appropriate level of training to enable them to carry out their individual roles & responsibilities effectively. Developing, implementing and embedding an effective staff appraisal process
* Implementing effective systems for the resolution of disciplinary and grievance issues
* Managing the financial elements of the practice, including budgets, cash and bank balances, etc. and seeking to maximise income and reduce expenditure
* Managing and processing partners drawings, PAYE and pensions for practice staff
* Maintaining an effective liaison with the accountant, overseeing practice accounts, ensuring year-end figures are presented
* Briefing partners on all financial matters, including forecasting
* Coordinating the reviewing and updating of all practice policies and procedures
* Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives; coordinating all projects within the practice
* Coordinating and leading the strategic direction of the business through quarterly strategy meetings with partners
* Developing, implementing and embedding an effective communication strategy (internal and external)
* Ensuring the practice maintains compliance with its NHS contractual obligations and CQC registration
* Ensuring the team reach QOF and enhanced service targets
* Actively encouraging and promoting the use of patient online services
* Liaising at external meetings as required
* Marketing the practice appropriately
* Supporting the management of the Patient Participation Group
* Management of all complaints
* Ensuring that the practice conforms to public and NHS policy in existence at any time.
* Any other duties of a practice-manager nature that may be introduced from time to time by the NHS or standard commercial business practice


Person Specification


Experience

* We are looking for a candidate who has a background in practice management in NHS general practice.
* The candidate must have a good understanding of the day-to-day operation of a GP practice as well as CQC compliance.


Qualifications

* A qualification in healthcare management


Availability

* The candidate must be able to work 3 days per week on site at the practice


Computer Skills

* Experience of using SystmOne and Clarity TeamNet
