The School: Cambian Potterspury Lodge School is a special school that offers opportunities for up to 64 children and young people with a primary diagnoses of Autism and who have an EHCP. The school is well subscribed with a strong pipeline and our educational offer is valued by local authorities and the parents/carers we serve. The school is set in a location near Towcester, Northamptonshire, and provides an inspiring learning environment where students receive specialist education and multidisciplinary care. Each student is given an individually tailored and holistic programme of support, preparing them well for adulthood. The staff team is highly motivated and committed, delivering rich and innovative experiences.
Job Purpose
To work as part of a team to promote a whole school approach to enhancing emotional health and wellbeing so that all children are able to access and benefit from the educational opportunities on offer.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Personal development, behaviour and welfare of all students.
* Coordinate pastoral and intervention systems, ensuring that appropriate strategies are implemented, monitored and reviewed.
* Support the senior leadership team in the care, support and guidance for all pupils, liaising with parents and all external professionals as appropriate.
* Work with and support staff to ensure that the behaviour policy and trauma-informed practices are consistently adhered to across the school.
* Monitor behaviour data and respond to the changing needs of the students.
* Foster positive relationships between students to create an environment that does not tolerate bullying and discrimination.
* Ensure that the school systems for rewards and sanctions are effective.
