Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a secondary school in Portsmouth supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding role where you will make a positive impact in the lives of young people who require help with emotional regulation, relationship building, and setting boundaries.


The Role of an LSA:

* Work on a one-to-one and small group basis with pupils who have SEMH needs.

* Support pupils with managing emotions, behaviour, understanding triggers, and developing positive relationships.

* Assist with adapting the learning content to meet individual needs.

* Collaborate closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide a safe and supportive environment.


Rrole Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children or young adults who struggle with emotional regulation and building relationships is essential.

* Ability to drive is highly desirable.

* Must have a clear DBS or be willing to apply for one.

* Availability between 8:30–15:30 (hours may vary slightly day-to-day).

* Passion, patience, and resilience when working with young people facing emotional challenges.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
