Horsham District Council is seeking an Information Security Officer to join our Customer and Digital Services team. The role involves developing and supporting the Information Assets Registers, Security Policies, providing security training, and offering advice on the security of applications, systems, and networked devices.
As the Information Security Officer, you will lead and manage all aspects of Information Security Policy development, monitoring, and compliance. You will collaborate with the Council's Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Information Governance Officer regarding the security of information and data assets. The role also ensures alignment with the Council's objectives, Digital and Technology Strategy, and relevant security standards and guidelines.
To succeed, you should have experience and knowledge of Cyber and Information Security compliance and its application to IT systems and applications. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential to educate stakeholders in Cyber Security. You will work with the Customer and Digital Services team on the procurement, management, and integration of systems and applications to ensure security. Additionally, you will advise on IT Security compliance and develop appropriate policies and procedures.
