Horticulture Lead – Full Time
Based at: ARK at Egwood CIC, Somerset TA16 5QN

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fun, friendly and award-winning team, helping us to change lives in our community. As Horticulture Lead, you’ll take a hands-on and strategic role in developing our horticultural activities at ARK at Egwood CIC. You’ll work with a wide range of individuals – including volunteers, staff, and participants with varying support needs – to create and maintain meaningful growing spaces across our 12-acre site.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about people and plants, with the knowledge, energy and empathy to inspire others through therapeutic horticulture. You’ll need strong practical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to lead sessions, plan projects, and manage outdoor spaces across the seasons.
Role Details
POST: Horticulture Lead. Full Time – 37.5 hrs per week
REFERENCE: HL2025
SALARY: Available at application stage & subject to experience/qualifications
6-month probationary period & annual review
HOURS: Full time. Core hours will be 37.5 per week. Flexibility of hours sometimes required, especially in the Summer months i.e. earlier mornings or weekends depending on need.
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager, CEO & Board of Directors
Responsibilities
* Develop and lead horticultural activities across ARK at Egwood CIC’s 12-acre site.
* Lead sessions, plan projects, and manage outdoor spaces across the seasons.
* Work with volunteers, staff and participants with varying support needs to create and maintain meaningful growing spaces.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure safe, therapeutic and inclusive horticultural experiences.
Qualifications & Experience
* Passionate about people and plants, with knowledge, energy and empathy to inspire others through therapeutic horticulture.
* Strong practical skills and a collaborative mindset.
* Ability to inspire and lead teams, and to adapt activities to seasonal conditions and participant needs.
About ARK at Egwood
ARK at Egwood is an inter-generational land-based day provision for people of all ages, needs and abilities. Based upon 12 acres of land and woodland, ARK creates a safe, outdoor space for people to relax, engage with others and improve their overall health and wellbeing. We grow our own produce, vegetables and flowers, and offer a number of rural based arts and crafts, cooking, hedge laying and other activities on site.
