<div><p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced physiotherapist to join the dedicated team at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a physiotherapist with experience in treating patients with cancer and a desire to work with this patient group. You will be supported by senior colleagues and there are many educational opportunities available.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><p>The Band 6 Physiotherapist is an active member of a team that provides a high quality, evidence based physiotherapy service for the patient with cancer. The post holder will rotate through a number of specialist units providing high quality physiotherapy care to both in and out patients across adults and TYA.</p><h3>Detailed job description and main responsibilities</h3><p><b>For further information on this role, please see the attached detailed Job Description and Person Specification:</b></p><ul><li>Provide a physiotherapeutic diagnosis, to develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes and make appropriate referrals to other disciplines.</li><li>The post holder has a responsibility to share best practice and answer or direct queries from health care professionals, patients and carers nationally</li><li>Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients</li><li>Manage clinical risk within own patient caseload</li><li>Be an active member of the emergency overnight and weekend on‑call rota</li><li>Comply with the Trust Manual Handling Policy and local therapeutic handling guidance at all times</li></ul><h3>Education / Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Diploma/degree level qualification in physiotherapy</li><li>Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or have alternative indemnity arrangements</li><li>HCPC Registered Physiotherapist</li><li>Evidence of on‑going personal/professional development through maintenance of CPD portfolio</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>NHS experience</li><li>Demonstrable knowledge in core physiotherapy skills</li><li>Rotational experience in respiratory, neurology, orthopaedics and musculo‑skeletal conditions</li><li>Knowledge/Experience in the treatment of patients with cancer</li><li>Relevant teaching/supervision experience</li></ul><h3>Skills, Abilities & Knowledge</h3><ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, physiotherapy colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team</li><li>Ability to show tact and to manage boundaries</li><li>Able to work without direct supervision</li><li>Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise</li><li>Ability to work in a stressful environment and recognise the additional stresses of patients/carers dealing with a cancer diagnosis</li><li>Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes</li><li>Awareness of current NHS issues</li><li>Computer literate (e.g. Microsoft words and Outlook)</li><li>Membership of a clinical interest group in physiotherapy</li></ul><h3>Other</h3><ul><li>Flexibility to meet the service needs</li><li>Ability to participate in the provision of an on‑call physiotherapy service</li><li>Able to work on both sites and to be flexible to meet the needs of the role</li></ul><h3>Diversity and Inclusion</h3><p>The Royal Marsden values diversity and is committed to the recruitment and retention of underrepresented minority groups.
