Bedford Phlebotomy Department are looking for a Bank phlebotomist to join the team, covering a 6 month secondment.
Working 22.5 hours per week including some weekends.
Main duties of the job
The Key Responsibilities of the post are:
Collecting blood samples via venepuncture across the wards/outpatients and Gilbert Hitchcock House.
To participate in routine Phlebotomy service,working alone if required and prioritising work accordingly.
To be aware of, and comply with, all Trust infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene.
Undertake training for prevention and control of infection.
To manage a large turnout of patients, treating each as an individual and ensuring that the correct number and type of blood containers are used; and, to behave professionally at all times.
Previous experience of Phlebotomy work is essential.
