Permanent Referral Theatre Veterinary Nurse - Derby

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal referral hospital in Derby for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team in a referral theatre nurse capacity. This role is full time for 38 hours per week over 4 days, along with 1 in 6 weekends. There will be twilight and on-call shifts every 10 weeks and 1 or 2 bank holiday shifts per year with time off in lieu.

About the role
10. You will be working alongside skilled anaesthesia nurses and referral specialist vets who have a range of disciplines from medicine, neurology to surgery and ophthalmology
11. You will see a varied caseload from both routine and emergency cases to soft tissue, orthopaedic, ophthalmology and neurology cases
12. You will be responsible for carrying out a mixture of anaesthesia and theatre work and will ensure that the theatre department runs smoothly and efficiently
13. Support will be provided by the skilled nursing team
14. There will be ongoing opportunities to develop referral nursing skills and the practice offer ongoing opportunities such as their in house advanced anaesthesia programme
15. You will work alongside 8 other theatre nurses and 6 theatre support nurses and a large team of vets who are specialists, residents and interns in various disciplines.

About you
23. You will have a special interest in anaesthesia and theatre work.
24. You will ideally have previous experience in referrals or a qualification in anaesthesia

Package
28. Salary: Up to £28, per annum, commensurate to experience
29. Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays and birthday off
