We are currently recruiting for a full-time Payroll & Bookkeeping Assistant to join a busy and growing accountancy practice. This is a varied role offering a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both payroll and bookkeeping within a fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in supporting both functions, working with a range of clients and ensuring all work is completed accurately and within strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Duties
* Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls
* Ensuring all payroll information is accurate and submitted on time
* Handling Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC
* Managing payroll queries
* Maintaining accurate payroll records
* Processing CIS returns and dealing with related queries
Bookkeeping Duties
* Maintaining accurate financial records
* Processing purchase and sales invoices
* Completing bank reconciliations
* Assisting with VAT returns
* Supporting the preparation of management accounts
About You
* Previous experience in payroll and/or bookkeeping
* Experience with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is highly desirable
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Confident using accounting and payroll software
* A proactive and adaptable approach
