We have an exciting new opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist with an interest in Mental health, community services and recovery to join our dynamic Occupational Therapy team in the diverse and vibrant boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham.

Following the principles laid out in the Community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults (2019), the Mental Health Integrated Network Team (MINT) has been developed to provide an innovative, person centred set of interventions focused on individual needs. The post holder will be delivering the following:

* Managing a caseload of client-centred occupational therapy interventions to service users with varied and sometimes complex needs, within the MINT Team, alongside multi-disciplinary team members and the occupational therapy team
* Actively developing and implementing a framework of care, which reflects a holistic approach to service user needs, and the seven pillars of clinical governance.
* Working under the supervision of a senior or clinical lead occupational therapist, applying clinical skills in occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation, for both individual and group orientated approaches.


Main duties of the job

West London NHS Trustprovides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification
* HCPC Registration


Experience

* Application of core OT skills and OT process
* Multidisciplinary team working
* Work experience in a Health or Social Care or 3rd Sector setting.
* Experience of working in mental health
* Involvement in research and clinical audit


Knowledge

* Research methodology
* Core skills of OT process
* Models of practice
* Clinical and environmental risk
* Equality and diversity
* Awareness of the need to work within appropriate boundaries
* Principles of clinical governance
* Relevant current legislation, including NICE guidelines, CPA, risk assessment and risk management

£35,964 to £43,780 a yearper annum inclusive of 20% HCAS
