As a Bank Family Assessment Worker, you will be part of a team in a residential setting; working with families on a day-to-day basis, providing detailed evidence-based assessment recordings of the parents' abilities to meet the safety and care/welfare needs of their children in line with the National Assessment Framework.
We are ideally looking for all Bank staff to be NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent. We want the team to be diverse and creative, therefore we want lived experiences from people who have a passion to assess, and supporting parents to make changes in their parenting for better outcomes for their child's future. Our aim is to deliver fair, robust and evidenced-based assessments.
You will be responsible for providing day-to-day care for our residents, whether this is supporting them in activities, attending appointments, or completing some sessions such as life skills. You will be part of the team which is responsible for undertaking comprehensive assessments with vulnerable children and their families in a residential setting and within the "Working Together 2018" Assessment Framework. You will be responsible for providing a high-quality and dependable standard of service which meets our values and standards.

Your job role will be supporting the Family Assessment Practitioners/ Family Assessment Social Workers on day-to-day tasks. Key duties will include:
* Conducting high-quality assessments which fall within the "Working Together to Safeguard Children" protocol
* Supporting each family's assessment plans weekly by ensuring all recordings on daily logs are detailed and comprehensive
* Completing risk assessments and updating these when needed
* Completing sessions with the families
* To actively promote The Groves commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults at a level appropriate to this group.
* To assist and support the Centre Managers in the day to day running of the Centre and the staff
* To help create and develop a safe, structured, learning environment which is based on the values and standards of The Groves
* To represent The Groves and to promote its services
* To ensure a high standard of social work practice
* To ensure and promote a good standard of childcare and general house management
* To keep abreast of current legislation, guidance, and protocols which inform and prescribe our work
* To work within the framework for the assessment of children in need and their families
* Teaching parenting skills and practices
* Assessing child and family interaction and parental ability
* To monitor and evaluate the effects of any such intervention on a child's emotional and physical wellbeing
* Night Assessment team members will be required to remain awake for the entire shift to oversee the safeguarding of the children in the centre. This will mean observing all tasks that take place with the child and ensuring that their emotional and physical well-being is being met by their parents.

Shift Pattern:
* 9:30pm - 9am (for Night Assessors)
* Bank worker's shifts will vary but will include sleep-in duties whereby you will have a separate bedroom with ensuite (£50 per sleep-in)
