About the role
Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to a pending pay award. The final salary will be adjusted in line with the nationally agreed pay award.
Porth Cynnal need extra staff supporting children and families.
When children are living away from their parents or family we as a Council have a duty to promote family time or contact. As most of the children are in school, family contact takes place early evening up to 8pm and weekends.
We need staff to take the children to meet their parents or family. The contact is supervised in order to make sure the children are safe and it is a positive experience for them.
We would provide training and many family contacts require two staff members mainly for logistical reasons so you would not work on your own until you felt confident in the role.
A typical family contact would be picking the child/ children up from school, attending an activity with parents and then taking them home. A short record is kept of the family contact but again training would be given and with each family contact a risk assessment is completed so staff are aware of any risks and feel confident managing them.
If you are interested and feel you would like some additional hours, then please get in touch with Megan Jenkins: who can explain more about the role and answer any questions.
Note: We reserve the right to extend the application closing date.
We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk. As part of this commitment, certain roles within our organisation require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess the suitability of candidates. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. Please note that the presence of previous convictions will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position.
