Salary: £36745 - £56959 (MPS or UPS) + SEN Points allowance
Beneficial if you teach an additional subject but not essential for the appointment. You have great experience working in either a mainstream School / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / Alternative Provision / SEMH School as a Teacher of Maths.
The successful Maths Teacher/ Teacher of Maths will have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a track record of delivering a minimum of a “Good Lesson” in lesson.
Class sizes are small, typically 5 -7 children per class and you would be supported by a minimum of 3 SEMH TAs within the classroom.
The successful Maths Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
You have great SEN experience; ie SEMH / Autism / PDA/ ODD/ ADD/ ADHD/ Behaviour Difficulties.
Excellent classroom management skills & can confidently de-escalate behaviour complexities.
Able to teach fun, interactive & engaging Maths lessons
Strong knowledge of Maths and the ability to teach the subject to GCSE level.
Knowledge of current Teaching and Learning strategies.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
An enthusiasm for STEM subjects and the ability to inspire pupils to develop an interest in these areas.
Can plan, prepare and deliver engaging Maths lessons to pupils in KS3 and GCSE.
Develop and deliver a curriculum that is appropriate to the needs of individual pupils.
Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback and setting targets for improvement.
Work closely with other members of the teaching team to ensure that pupils receive a broad and balanced education.
Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
Contribute to the development of the school's STEM provision.
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism in all aspects of the role.
