Field Technician – Global Rail Monitoring Systems
Location: Within 90 minutes of Derby or Northern Ireland
Salary: £45,000 + Fully Expensed Global Travel (Flights, Accommodation, Meals)
Travel Requirement: International travel up to 10 weeks per year (typically 3 trips per month)

The Role.
We are seeking a skilled Field Technician to support the installation, calibration, and maintenance of sophisticated monitoring equipment. This includes laser measurement tools, high-speed cameras, and acoustic sensors, all of which require precise calibration and software configuration.
As part of a global deployment team, you’ll work on-site to ensure systems are correctly installed and fully operational. While some civil works may be involved, these are managed by external contractors.
Key Responsibilities.
Install, calibrate, and maintain monitoring systems at international rail sites.
Interpret technical drawings and follow detailed installation procedures.
Use proprietary software to configure and calibrate equipment.
Perform fault diagnosis and resolution independently.
Collaborate with international teams and trusted partners on-site.

Candidate Profile
To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Level 3 qualification or higher in a relevant technical discipline.
Dual-skilled in mechanical and electrical systems.
Comfortable using software tools for system calibration.
Proven ability to fault-find and resolve issues independently.
Background in rail (ideally signalling or GSM-R), or military/defence technical roles.
Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a regular basis.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
