Job Overview
The Leeds United Foundation is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and dedicated individual to lead the implementation and delivery of the Premier League Inspires Programme. The suitable candidate will be required to meet the Mission, Vision and Objectives set out by the Premier League and The Leeds United Foundation to inspire young people to meet their potential, through the creation and delivery of high quality 1-2-1 mentoring and/or group interventions in school or community settings.
The Inspires officer's purpose is to improve the aspirations, attainment, and attendance of identified cohorts of students across secondary schools in Leeds using the power of Leeds United FC and Leeds United Foundation and other important themes to deliver an engaging intervention programme, which will support key outcomes of

* Exam Preparation
* Career Progression into positive Pathways
Objectives of the role?
* Plan, deliver and evaluate the Premier League Inspires programme to students aged 11-18 years old across identified secondary schools in Leeds and the surrounding areas.
* Engage with students to improve their attitude, attendance, and attainment.
* To deliver the annual Premier League Inspires Challenge on behalf of Leeds United Foundation.
* Mentoring young people within a 1:1 format
Key responsibilities?
* To achieve the Premier League Inspires Programme objectives, ensuring that targets are achieved.
* Deliver daily workshops as part of the Inspires programme to students on topics such as Wellbeing, Enterprise and Business as well as creating Social Action Plans.
* Liaise and communicate with targeted secondary schools, plus potential new schools.
* Organise collapsed curriculum and careers days.
* Work with all the Foundation department to enhance the Premier League Inspires Programme.
* Deliver one to one targeted mentoring sessions to identified students.
* Develop suitable exit routes for beneficiaries as they graduate from the programme.
* To keep up to date, high quality monitoring information in order to track the progress in line with KPI requirements, completing the Premier League mid and end of year reports on time and to an agreed standard.
* Be the single point of contact between the partner secondary school and Leeds United Foundation
* Develop a network of key external contacts with the school's community setting that can help drive the Inspires programme forward.
* Demonstrate a commitment to Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Equality Diversity and Inclusion by adhering to relevant policies, procedures within the Foundation, relating to safeguarding children and adults at risk.
* Support the wider work of the Foundation through collaboration with other programme areas.
* Any other duties and responsibilities directed from line manager or member of the chief executive team.
* Willingness to contribute to our Personal Development by attending organised courses set up by the Foundation or Key Stakeholders
Person Specification
Essential
* Understanding of the Premier League Inspires programme.
* Completed or working towards a Youth Worker / Mentor qualification.
* An understanding of delivering curriculum or intervention programmes to participants aged year-olds.
* Be able to engage participants who have challenging behaviour or who are disengaged with school.
* Be able to teach using a variety of teaching methods and styles.
* Prepare, relate, and deliver up to date knowledge and experience on social action plans and careers.
* GSCE C/4 in English and Maths.
* Full Clean Driving License.
* Ability to use a problem-solving approach to respond appropriately to a wide range of enquiries.
* Ability to work on own initiative or with others on tasks with minimum supervision.
* Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to coordinate projects from development to implementation to completion.
* Supporting young people to progress into positive pathways.
* Safeguarding young people's development and engaging and communicating with young people.
* Ability and willingness to work outside of normal hours as and when required.
* Flexible approach to work.
Desirable
* Knowledge of local initiatives, governments policies.
* Experience of working in and liaising with schools and external agencies.
* Prepare, relate, and deliver up to date knowledge and experience on social action plans and careers.
* Experience of working with a diverse team of staff, with experience in mentoring and staff development.
* Be willing to undertake further training and development as necessary to enhance service delivery.
