My client is an award-winning, legal recommended full-service law firm with offices across Yorkshire. Their busy and well-regarded Commercial Litigation department is currently seeking a 2-6 years PQE Property Litigation Solicitor to be based in their Leeds City Centre office, with occasional travel to other offices in the area.
Once settled, there is an opportunity for a degree of hybrid working.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of Property Litigation matters and assisting on more complex cases within the team.
Requirements include excellent communication and written skills, good time management, the ability to work to deadlines, and a flair for building strong client relationships. Strong commercial awareness, a track record of meeting billing targets, and a methodical approach with high accuracy are essential.
The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years PQE within property litigation, either from a purely property litigation background or from a commercial disputes background.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Dealing with lease renewal/termination notices and proceedings under the LTA 4
* Service of break notices and advice on their validity and break conditions
* Interpretation and enforcement of leases and dilapidations claims
* Arrears recovery, service charge disputes, and estate management issues
* Advising on tenant insolvency
* Forfeiture and obtaining possession of commercial and residential tenancies
* Assisting the conveyancing department on residential long leasehold and Building Act matters
* Providing advice on restrictive covenant and easement disputes
* Drafting instructions to counsel and collaborating on larger cases, including disclosure, witness statements, and trial bundles
