How will you make a difference?
As a Service Technician you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines for Nordex Energy UK Ltd based at the Kilbraur & Burn of Whilk Windfarms. You will carry out general and specialized work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities. Our goal is to achieve a high level of availability for the running of the turbines!

Whilst no two days are the same, you key responsibilities will revolve around:
Maintenance – You will conduct all preparation and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on our wind turbines with your team and subcontractors.
Repairs - You will carry out complex repairs with technical support and your Lead Technician such as the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, as well main components and gearboxes.
HSE – At Nordex Safety comes first! You will conduct daily and weekly PPE checks, vehicle checks, and perform your work activities with a high focus on HSE ensuring you are compliant with HSE regulations, whilst also reporting accurately and in due time safety observations.
Systems – It will be your responsibility to update SAP MI, timesheets, daily reports, and NC2 SCADA System.
To succeed you will have the following:
Mechanical / Electrical experience – You will have experience working in the Mechanical or Electrical industry and demonstrate knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
Analytical Mindset – Demonstrate you can identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions to problems.
Adaptability – You will have the ability to work in an environment of continuous change and different challenges. With a positive attitude and willingness to learn, lead, and improve.
Flexibility - Flexible in working time and area with a willingness to travel up to 3 weeks of the year including nights away from home for training.
Team Focused - Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with your colleagues on group projects or team goals.
System Savy – You are computer literate and confident in using MS office, in hour databased and workload management systems, bonus points if you have used SAP!
Working at heights – This role involves working at heights, up to 100m. You will need to be fit and health and pass a working at height test!
Driving Licence – You must have a full EU driving license for this role.
Although not essential we would love if you had experience working with Wind Turbines before!
Education
8. Technical education/training through time-served or a technical college qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
What are the working hours
Our core hours are 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm). If there is a problem with a wind turbine at the end of your shift you may be asked to stay and work overtime to get it fixed! We also need our Service Technicians to be available for any breakdowns and faults at the weekend, therefore you will work on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on the size of your team). Overtime is paid at time and a half, and you will receive an additional payment of 300 EUR for the weekend you are on on-call!
