About the Role Are you ready to lead the charge in creating a safer, smarter, and more innovative workplace? Were looking for a Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of all health, safety, and well-being initiatives across our busy manufacturing operations.
In this pivotal role, youll shape policies, drive continuous improvement, and ensure full compliance with UK regulations all while fostering a culture where safety comes first.
Key Responsibilities Policy Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies in line with UK legislation and best practice.
Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, audits, and collaborate with external agencies to ensure compliance and maintain high safety standards.
Emergency Preparedness: Design and implement emergency response plans, coordinate drills, and manage safety equipment maintenance.
Safety Culture: Lead campaigns, training sessions, and engagement initiatives to embed a proactive safety culture throughout the workforce.
Incident Analysis: Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.
Budget Oversight: Manage the health and safety budget, ensuring training and improvement programmes are properly resourced.
About You Youre a hands-on professional who combines technical expertise with excellent communication and leadership skills. Youre passionate about building a positive, compliant, and forward-thinking safety culture.
What Youll Bring:
A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
NEBOSH or IOSH certification (highly desirable).
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar health and safety management role, ideally within food, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies a plus.
Proven ability to lead change and collaborate effectively across teams and external partners.
