We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to play a fundamental part in shaping the future of this growing practice.
At Powderham Vets, we believe in ‘Healthy Animals, Happy Owners’ and that starts with having a compassionate, skilled, and supported team. We’re currently looking for a Consult-Only Vet to join our forward-thinking practice, with a focus on delivering frameworks to provide high-quality clinical care.
This role is ideal for a vet who enjoys building strong relationships with clients, guiding treatment plans, and making a meaningful impact without the pressure of surgery or out-of-hours.
Join Our Team - Embrace Flexible Working
At Powderham, we understand that a fulfilling veterinary career and a healthy work-life balance can go hand in hand. That’s why we offer flexible working options to support our team - because caring for animals starts with caring for our people. We have a dedicated out of hours provider to ensure we can all go home without the commitment to an emergency phone line.
Whether you’re looking for part-time hours, a four-day week, or support with school pickups, we’ll work with you to find a pattern that fits.
Modern Facilities & Supportive Network
The Powderham sites are well equipped, and you’ll have the benefit of working alongside the wider group - with access to:
• CT Scanner
• Advanced ultrasound and imaging suite
• Dental and digital x-ray
• Endoscopy and in-house lab
• 24-hour hospital support from South Devon Veterinary Hospital
We actively encourage clinical interests and referrals within the group - supporting your continued professional growth and development
A Team That Cares for You
Our close-knit, PSS-accredited practices have served the community for over 30 years, and we’re proud that many of our team members have stayed with us long-term. We’re committed to a culture of support, openness, and continuous improvement - and we’re always open to new ideas for clinical excellence and team wellbeing. Working closely with South Devon Vet Hospital and Kingsteignton Vets means you’ll be well supported, can utilise all facilities and knowledge as well as sharing cases between the group.
Live Where Others Holiday
With Dartmoor and the coast on your doorstep, this is a dream location for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, from paddleboarding and wild swimming to hiking, cycling, or just unwinding on the beach. Whether you're relocating or already lucky enough to live locally, we can help you settle in.
