Contract type: Permanent

Salary: Offered on a starting salary of £47,874 with the potential to increase up to £56,322 over the course of three years + additional benefits

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Supply Chain Modernisation Programme during an exciting period of transformation. Working as part of a wider project and programme delivery team, this role will focus on the successful delivery of defined projects and workstreams that contribute to our long‑term transformation goals and organisational vision.

Supporting the Programme Manager, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering change initiatives across the organisation, working closely with internal teams, service providers, and stakeholders. Effective project delivery will be essential in embedding sustainable change, helping to drive improved outcomes for our customers, patients, and the wider business.

Every day you will …

* Deliver assigned projects or workstreams end‑to‑end, supporting the Lead Project Manager and Programme Manager to define scope, objectives, and deliverables. Ensure delivery is achieved within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
* Work collaboratively with service providers and internal NHS Supply Chain teams to support coordinated delivery across multiple partners, ensuring your projects contribute effectively to the wider Modernisation Programme.
* Apply Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies as appropriate, ensuring compliance with governance processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing regular progress updates to the Lead Project Manager and key stakeholders.
* Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, engaging colleagues at all levels to support delivery, manage expectations, and ensure clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support continuous improvement and programme alignment, contributing to lessons learned, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, and ensuring all project activity aligns with NHS Supply Chain’s strategic objectives and transformation goals.

What can we offer you?

We want to reward you for your passion, enthusiasm, and hard work so we offer much more than a competitive salary:

* Hybrid working opportunities, giving you the flexibility to work collaboratively in the office and remotely.
* We recognise our employees’ hard work and contributions with annual bonus schemes, long service, and colleague recognition awards.
* We are dedicated to your development, through in‑house training, support, and access to external qualifications to maximise your potential.
* A focus on your well‑being offering 1 day of paid well‑being leave and free access to the 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
* Generous pension scheme (with us contributing 12% when you contribute 6%).
* Access to our Flexible Benefits Scheme, where you can choose from a variety of benefits such as Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, Income Protection, Health Cash Plan, Dental Insurance, and additional pension contributions that suit you.
* 2 days of paid volunteering leave allowing you to give back to your community.
* Access to many discounts from the Blue Light Card to NHS Discounts.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

* Project Delivery – Experience delivering low to medium complexity projects across the full lifecycle within a wider programme.
* Methodology & Governance – Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to manage governance, change, and project costs.
* Communication & Stakeholder Management – Strong communication skills with proven ability to engage and manage a range of stakeholders.
* Team & Supplier Coordination – Experience working in matrix environments and coordinating cross‑functional teams, with vendor management experience desirable.
* Considered competent in the use of Software packages such as Microsoft Project.
* Qualifications & Sector Knowledge – Relevant PPM qualification or equivalent experience; knowledge of healthcare, supply chain, or change frameworks desirable.

Our Inclusive Commitment

At NHS Supply Chain, we are committed to building an inclusive environment where difference is not only valued, but celebrated, giving everyone the opportunity to thrive in their career. Developing our people is key to our success, so if this role sounds like the right next step in your career but your experience doesn’t match perfectly with the job advert, we encourage you to still apply.
