Reporting Developer Contract
We’re looking for a Reporting Developer to join our Data Development Team in Milton Keynes office. Your will design, develop, support and enhance reporting solutions across a range of business applications.
This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our Milton Keynes or Leighton Buzzard office and will be on a Zero Hour Contract.
About the Team
The IT Solutions & Development team develops and maintains business applications, websites and reporting for all business units and subsidiaries across Connells Group.
IT Solutions & Development comprises of the following key areas:
1. Application Development
2. Data Development
3. Development Architecture
4. Online Development
Key responsibilities of the Reporting Developer:
5. Development and maintenance of integrated reporting solutions across a range of business applications
6. Integrity and audit check data for application into reporting solutions
7. Maintain understanding of various business application database structures
8. Support ad-hoc report generation or data extractsvia T-SQL queries
9. Interpret written functional requirements and technical specification documents and translate into reporting deliveries
10. Investigate and maintain alternative delivery formats (e.g. grouping, drilldown, matrix (pivoted)) to achieve maximum benefit from the underlying data
11. Contribute to improve the overall development processes / methodologies followed by the development team.
Experience & skills required to be successful as a Reporting Developer:
Essential
12. Excellent understanding and experience of using and writing T-SQL
13. SQL Server Reporting Services knowledge and experience
14. Knowledge of data access technologies used alongside MS SQL
Desirable
15. Experience of Power BI
16. Experience in SSIS or similar data loading toolset
17. SSAS or analytic development

18. Willingness to own issues through to completion, communicating effectively and in a timely manner throughout
19. Helpful, courteous and experienced in dealing with user issues and frustrations with in a high-pressure environment
20. Good team communication, with experiences in sharing and presenting new ideas and approaches with the team
