About us
2CRSi UK (trading as Tranquil IT) designs, manufactures, and assembles rugged, energy‑efficient IT systems in our Trafford Park facility—bringing CNC machining, anodising, assembly, test and packing together under one roof. Our ISO 9001 quality system underpins everything we do, and we're steadily scaling to meet growing demand for bespoke edge computing hardware.
The role
We're hiring a hands‑on Production Manager to lead day‑to‑day factory operations, optimise throughput and quality, and develop a skilled, safety‑first team. You'll own the production plan across machining, anodising and assembly/test, keep the shop floor humming, and drive continuous improvement across processes, people and equipment.
What you'll do
* Run the site day‑to‑day: open/close, conduct start‑of‑shift briefs, allocate people & machines, and maintain the master production schedule to hit on‑time delivery and yield targets.
* Lead, coach & upskill the team: maintain training matrices and up‑to‑date work instructions with support from CAD/engineering and QHSE; promote ESD‑safe and standardised work (PTS) practices.
* Plan & control production: capacity/load planning, sequencing across CNC → anodising → assembly/test, proactive bottleneck management, and rapid issue escalation.
* Quality at source: embed ISO 9001 practices and in‑process checks; lead non‑conformance investigations, corrective & preventive actions (8D/CAR) and internal audits in partnership with QHSE.
* Health, Safety & Environment: model safe systems of work, review risk assessments (e.g., MWF/LEV, COSHH), enforce PPE, and continuously improve H&S culture and environmental controls.
* Equipment care: ensure CNC/anodising/LEVs and utilities are inspected, calibrated and serviced to plan; manage breakdown response and maintain contractor permit‑to‑work controls.9
* Materials & inventory: work with Purchasing to ensure right‑first‑time kitting, MOQ/lead‑time coverage and obsolescence mitigation; keep WIP accurate and flowing.
* Budgeting & reporting: partner with Finance on the annual production budget, cost control, and weekly KPIs (OTD, FPY, OEE, scrap/rework, labour productivity).
* Continuous improvement: drive 5S, visual management and Kaizen; lead cross‑functional root‑cause analysis and change control with Engineering (ECR/ECO).
About you
* Proven experience managing production in a make‑to‑order/low‑to‑medium batch environment (machining/metal finishing/electro‑chemistry or electronics assembly ideal).
* Clear, calm leadership on the shop floor; data‑driven decision‑making and an eye for quality.
* Comfortable with ERP/MRP scheduling and basic CI/Lean tools (5S, value stream mapping, standard work).
* Working knowledge of H&S (COSHH, PUWER, LEV) and ISO 9001 practices; ISO 14001 awareness a plus.
Hours
Mon–Thu 08:00–18:00 (on‑site, Trafford Park).
Benefits
* Holiday entitlement 24 days per annum which include bank holidays.
* All PPE provided; modern, well‑equipped facility and on‑site parking.
