NES Fircroft are supporting a leading Oil & Gas Operator in the recruitment of an Occupational Hygienist to join their dedicated QSSHE team in Norwich.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering and developing the Occupational Hygiene programme across our clients Southern North Sea operations. The role will focus on the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks across both offshore and onshore environments.
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for workplace health, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to influence both management and operational teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering occupational hygiene monitoring programmes
Reviewing Health Risk Assessments and exposure controls
COSHH assessments and hazardous substance management
Chemical exposure monitoring including benzene, welding fumes, solvents, gases, metals, and hydrocarbons
Noise, vibration, asbestos, radiation, thermal stress, and ergonomic assessments
PPE/RPE and LEV assessment and inspection
Occupational hygiene audits and inspections across operational sites
Delivering occupational hygiene training and awareness programmes
Supporting continual improvement of monitoring, reporting, and assurance systems
Candidates should ideally have:
Minimum 2 years’ Occupational Hygiene experience
BOHS qualifications or working towards CertOH/Certificate of Operational Competence
Experience with occupational hygiene monitoring techniques
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Oil & Gas or heavy industrial experience desirable
Radiation Protection Supervisor experience advantageous
This role would suit someone from Oil & Gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, manufacturing, energy, offshore, or other high-hazard industrial environments.
