This is a Full Time Position - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 4AM to 4PM
Compensation Range: $21.40 to $32.10 -hourly/paid bi-weekly

* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
* Performs duties of a security technician, including responding to internal incidents, securing the campus, escorting visitors/patients/employees, completing reports, etc.
* Monitors and manages entry points to the facility, including checking visitor identification and controlling staff access.
* Regularly patrols hospital grounds and buildings to ensure security protocols are followed and to identify potential hazards.
* Responds to security alarms, medical emergencies, suspicious activity, and disturbances in a timely manner and coordinates with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
* Actively observes security cameras and other monitoring systems to identify potential security threats or incidents.
* Utilizes verbal communication and de-escalation strategies to manage agitated or aggressive patients, visitors, or employees.
* Participates in emergency drills and assists with response to fire alarms, active shooter situations, and other critical incidents.
* Maintains detailed logs of security incidents, suspicious activity, and actions taken.
* Adheres to HIPAA regulations and protects patient confidentiality.
* Collaborates with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and security.
* Uses reasonable and necessary physical control techniques for the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
* Required to be outside for a period of time in inclement weather.
* Performs physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling patients and/or equipment.
* Ensures safety policies and procedures are understood and followed by staff.
* Assists with delivering training programs for employees within the organization on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and training requirements.
* Promotes a culture of safety and awareness across the organization through outreach and educational opportunities.
* Collaborates with departments, law enforcement, and emergency management agencies to ensure cohesive and coordinated security efforts.
* Collaborates with the IT Department in relation to security technology, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
* Maintains acceptable proficiency in all skills through ongoing training and testing.
* Required to work shift work.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Must be able to legally work in the United States.
* Must be able to pass a background check.
* Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test.
* Must possess a clean driving record and pass a Motor Vehicle Records Check and meet insurability guidelines (if applicable) – see below:
o Must be 21 years of age or older
o Must possess a valid driver’s license
o Must not have three (3) or more violations in three years.
o Must not have any of the following violations, regardless of the time period:
+ Homicide involving a vehicle.
+ Using a vehicle to elude an officer.
+ Hit and run.
+ Manslaughter with a vehicle.
+ Felony with a vehicle.
+ False report to police department.
+ Permitting an unlicensed driver to drive.
* Any two or more preventable accidents in three (3) years – a preventable accident is any traffic accident which results in property damage and/or personal injury, regardless of who was injured, what property was damaged, to what extent, or where it occurred, in which the driver in question failed to exercise every reasonable precaution or action to avoid the accident. Driving to avoid preventable accidents is defensive driving. The fact that the driver was not charged with a traffic violation by law enforcement is not a part of our definition.
* Any driver convicted of any of the following within the last five (5) years:
o Any alcohol or drug related offense including, but not limited to, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

ICS-100 (FEMA) Training (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
