Overview
XWAME Group Ltd are recruiting a ‘Parts Assembly Technician’ based out of their manufacturing and maintenance facility in Ashton-Under-Lyne.
Responsibilities
* Produce precision components for scientific instrumentation by assembling parts and subassemblies.
* Read, decipher, and understand schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
* Position and align precision components manually as well as larger parts either manually or with safe lifting equipment.
* Use hand tools to assemble parts.
* Conduct quality control checks.
* Clean, restore and refurbish precision parts and components prior to assembly.
* Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools.
* Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
* Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
* Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
* Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
* Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
* Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels and verifying receipt of supplies.
* Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
* Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of basic IT skills.
* Display an aptitude for technical and mechanical skills.
* Display a keen attention to detail.
* Previous experience as a parts assembly technician is desirable but not essential. The right candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic.
* The successful candidate would be required to work Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00.
* Any successful candidate must be able to provide proof of their right to work in the United Kingdom.
