We’re seeking a Director of Finance to join our experienced leadership team, overseeing Finance, Estates, and Strategic Planning at a thriving, inclusive 16 to 19 Single Academy Trust, rated Outstanding by Ofsted. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed Finance Professional to join a collaborative and forward-thinking leadership team, and to play a key role in supporting the College’s continued success. The vacancy arises due to the planned retirement of our long-serving Director, creating an opportunity to build on a strong foundation and shape the next chapter of our financial strategy.
The Director of Finance will lead and manage the College’s Finance Function, Estates Operations, Capital Planning, and Sustainability Strategy. Working directly with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the post holder plays a central role in organisational development, governance reporting, and ensuring the College maintains robust financial health and compliance.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with proven experience in financial leadership—ideally within a small to mid-sized organisation. They will combine strategic insight with operational oversight, possess strong people management skills, and be confident communicating financial matters to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
The post is offered full time, full-year or term-time + 3 weeks (42 weeks per year), ideal for someone looking for better balance without sacrificing leadership responsibility. The starting salary will be dependent on experience and includes access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and generous annual leave (up to 10 weeks per year).
