Social Workers Children’s Services
Permanent positions for qualified social workers in Trafford Council’s Children’s Services. Salary: Band 7 (Level 2) Band 8 (Level 3), £37,280 - £42,839 per annum. Market factor supplement of £2,400 per annum (pro rata to hours) payable monthly and reviewed annually to aid attraction and retention for Level 3 (Band 8).
Location: Borough-wide, main office locations Trafford Town Hall or Sale Waterside. The service emphasises strengths-based, relational and restorative practice with a culture aimed at enabling staff to thrive and improve outcomes for children and families.
Responsibilities
We are recruiting qualified social workers to the following parts of our service. Roles are hybrid, combining locality-based and home working.
* Families First (localities) This is our dedicated Child in Need Service. You will work on a locality basis with children and families requiring a social work assessment, building relational partnerships and enabling step-down of plans where appropriate.
* Support and Protect (localities) This service covers escalated Child Protection cases with dedicated support for longer-term and complex work, risk management and child-focused plans. Roles available in South (Altrincham), North (Stretford), and West (Stretford).
* Cared for Children and Care Experienced Young People Through-care approach for children with permanence plans and care-experienced young people, supporting transition and ongoing development.
Other areas include the ongoing development of induction, workload management, supervision, ASYE and Second Supported Year programmes, Strengthening Practice and opportunities for progression. This includes involvement in projects and pilots to support service improvement.
