Cravenhill Publishing
Events executive
Posted: 1 April
Offer description

We are looking for someone to join our busy and exciting events department. We want someone with some experience in the events business who now wants to be given the opportunity to take on more events processes. The package comes with a competitive starting salary, performance-related bonuses and a review after six months. The role will include overseas travel.

Cravenhill Publishing is a publishing and events business. We publish two magazines and organise conferences and awards events around the world. Our two magazines are Communicate (focusing on corporate communications) and Transform (covering brand strategy and design) and we create, develop and deliver a portfolio of conferences and awards events targeted towards their respective markets. We take training and development seriously and take pride in providing a dynamic and stimulating work environment and a culture that encourages personal growth and responsibility.

About you

We are looking for a tenacious, hard-working individual who is an organised, confident communicator and has a creative flair. You will have some experience in events operations and will:

* Have a passion for creating excellent and exciting events
* Be looking for experience in building a career in the events industry
* Be collaborative, enthusiastic and proactive
* Be process driven and strategic
* Pride yourself on your excellent organisational skills and attention-to-detail
* Have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and be comfortable with communicating with a variety of stakeholders
* Be able to work on multiple projects at the same time
* Have high attention to detail to pick up on errors and typos
* And have strong administration capabilities and a great understanding of Microsoft Office programmes.

We are looking for a team player, with a can-do attitude. You should be able to work well under pressure and want to play an integral role in delivering high-quality events. Our events overlap, so you will be working on multiple events at one time, and you will be dealing with multiple clients and stakeholders of various levels.

Your role

The main function of the events executive role will be to provide strong logistical and administrative support across our extensive awards portfolio and conference programmes. Reporting to Cravenhill Publishing’s head of events, the role of the events executive will provide pre-event, on-the-day and post-event support.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

* Being a contact for key event stakeholders to provide advice and support
* Playing a critical role in establishing and maintaining our reputation externally
* Providing administrative support during the events planning cycle, including (but not limited to) general events assistance, database management, assisting the production of event collateral and liaising with speakers, sponsors and delegates
* Creating key events assets, such as awards script and presentations
* Leading on sales strategy for the events, assisting with sales that come through our booking channels and actively seeking revenue for our events
* And assisting the head of events with running events on-site, as well as running several events on-site without the head of events

This is a very busy role in the lead up to an event so will require a calm head under pressure and flexibility regarding work hours.

Benefits include:

* Fun, open and collaborative work environment
* Small and friendly team
* Hybrid working – minimum of three days from the office in Clapham Junction, London
* Holiday allowance of 23 days plus bank holidays
* Your birthday off
* Salary review after six months
* Performance related bonuses
* Company pension
* Health insurance (after three months)
* Training opportunities and development
* Experience and opportunities given early on
* Room to grow and develop quickly within the role and organisation

International travel
