This role supports the Materials Management Team at St James University Hospital (SJUH). Responsibilities include replenishing stock on wards and working alongside the Materials Management Assistants, who lead on inventory management.
You need excellent attention to detail and must be strict about stock rotation, ensuring ward staff have the necessary medical provisions. You will be a point of contact for ward/clinical staff requiring urgent medical provisions, so the ability to think quickly and manage expectations is essential.
Working hours: 07:30-15:30, Monday-Friday (occasional flexibility may be required).

Main duties of the job
On a day-to-day basis, you will load cages/load-hogs, move them around the hospital to wards/departments, and unload them to replenish storage modules as directed by the Materials Management Assistants. This is a physically demanding role, with an expected 15,000-20,000 steps per day during a 7.5-hour shift. You should be in good physical health and meet Occupational Health requirements. Experience with handheld scanning devices is advantageous but not essential.

Job responsibilities
Under the Stores Manager's supervision, ensure the safe receipt of goods, check goods against purchase orders, and perform timely, accurate computerised goods receipting.
Liaise with Purchasing and Payments teams to manage procurement and payments effectively.
Maintain stock levels within stores.
Provide excellent service to internal and external customers receiving stores and distribution services.
