Role and Responsibilities
The post is for 10 sessions as a Specialty doctor in Community Paediatrics based at the Child and Family Centre, Axe Street, Barking. The post holder will be a GMC registered clinician responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan and deliver care, including being professionally and legally accountable.

The post holder will support their peers and team leader and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will supervise junior colleagues. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.
The post holder will cover complex Paediatric Neuro-disability within the service (including cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, neurodevelopmental, chromosomal and genetic conditions and syndromes). They will also produce reports to contribute to statutory work including EHC plans, IHA plans, and CP medicals as required. Support and supervision will be provided as needed, dependent on experience.

Team and supervision
The post holder will work alongside 4 substantive consultants, and a Specialty doctor in the department. There is a Named doctor for Safeguarding on the unit and a separate 0.5 WTE consultant in the Designated Safeguarding role who sits in the local CCG and provides supervision for Safeguarding to the Named Doctor in Redbridge.
