An opportunity has arisen to join a progressive, dynamic training practice in Sevenoaks located only 200metres from the train station, with staff parking on site. We are seeking a practice nurse to join our well established team to replace a nurse who is moving out of area.
The successful candidate will be joining a strong, supportive surgery and will be working in modern premises with recently refurbished rooms.
The Amherst Medical Practice is proud of encouraging and supporting staff personal development. Study leave is granted pro rata and there are monthly multi-disciplinary team meetings which all staff members are encouraged to attend and contribute to.
The position is flexible but a minimum of 20 hours per week is required. Remuneration is competitive and dependent on experience and skills. A comprehensive induction programme will be provided.
Working days will, most likely, be Tuesday & Friday 8.30am - 6.30pm

Job responsibilities
* Support and advise patients in managing their own disease Identify and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of long-term conditions
* Appropriately support patients in complex, urgent or emergency situations, and initiate emergency care as required
* Support and encourage patients to adopt a healthy lifestyle
* Carry out, support and advise women with regards to cervical smear tests
* Support and advise men with health/lifestyle advice and appropriate referrals
* Support and refer patients with mental health needs
* Conduct new patient health checks (delivering opportunistic health promotion at the same time)
* Carry out testing/screening, including (but not limited to): Urine testing/analysis Blood pressure measurement/monitoring
* ECG
* Height, weight measurement
* Removal of sutures
* Tissue viability assessment
* Wound cleaning and dressing
* Ulcer care, including Doppler assessment
* Management of minor injuries (sprains, bruising, cuts, etc)
* Management of skin conditions and referral where necessary
* Implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children, including (but not limited to): Routine immunisations Pertussis immunisation for pregnant women Flu immunisation Pneumococcal immunisation
* Perform other clinical duties as required, within the scope of the practice nurses competencies and training
