Responsibilities
* Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care.
* Patrol the site systematically to ensure that the residence is secure and the students are safe.
* Liaise closely with Camp Manager with regards to any security concerns.
* Ensure that all ALPADIA rules, procedures and directives are understood and adhered to in full.
* Monitor the whereabouts of students on site, ensuring separation of genders and discouraging night time wandering out of rooms and buildings.
* Ensure the health and safety, welfare and discipline of students, anticipating discrimination, bullying, and damage.
* Take responsibility for the school buildings (e.g. locking up, lights off, etc.).
* Complete a nightly report and present this to the Camp Manager each morning.
* Be fully familiar and ready to enact Alpadia’s Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Anti‑Bullying and other relevant policies.
* Deal with all other reasonable requests as decided by the Camp Manager.
Qualifications
Your profile
Essential
* Previous experience working with children or young people in a supervisory, care, or educational role.
* Ability to take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of students overnight.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to remain alert during night shifts.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with daytime staff and report incidents.
* Conflict management and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergencies.
* Mature, approachable, and trustworthy.
* Awareness of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
* Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
Desirable
* Prior experience in a residential or camp setting.
* Recognised First Aid qualification.
* Training in safeguarding or child protection.
* Experience handling medical or wellbeing concerns (e.g. asthma, allergies, homesickness).
* Ability to engage positively with young people to reassure them during the night.
* Flexibility to support daytime staff when needed.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in residential settings.
* Security Guard Licence.

* London‑Central → International Students House: 21.06.26 – 08.08.26.
* 6 nights per week, 22:00 onwards.
Miscellaneous
* Non‑Residential position.
* All staff employed will be required to provide / undergo an Enhanced DBS check, 3 referee details, and overseas conduct certificates where applicable.
